OUTFITS | Sweater Skirt

Photobucket

Photobucket

longsleeve: Monki
knit sweater ties as skirt: Vintage
snake heels: Weekday

Buttoned shirts, longsleeves and Tshirts have a double duty in my wardrobe.(Check out my video on how to tie a skirt out of a T shirt). I started wearing tops as bottoms because of practical reasons; I wanted to wear a monochromatic heather grey outfit but only owned tops in that color so I tied a lonsleeve into a skirt. Same goes for today; a closet filled with knitted sweaters but no knitted skirts. I loved wearing it tied or with the sleeves hanging loose it reminds me of Comme des Garcons.

@Lara Maria,
The heels are from last season, but they've got some pretty amazing chunky ones for winter too!

You are so amazingly creative. Your blog is a constant source of inspiration for me-even though our styles are very different, I always find myself inspired to try something new when scanning through your outfits. I tried a velvet button down as a skirt a while back and it didn't look HALF as nice as this does! Think I'm gunna have to give it another go.

I like it untied the most. It's such a simple idea but with such impact. The tying a longsleeve into a skirt tutorial is so awesome. I want to try that as a soon as possible! <3

haha, wow amazing, would you believe that one of my friends did something similar to an almost identical sweater once? She also tried to wear it as a pair of pants. It looked quite bizarre.

This is such a creative idea! I've actually seen skrits designed like this with the sleeves knotted to the front. Would be so warm in winter, too!!

It is sad that she can not think of anything yourself, but steal from you. You'd think she might ask if she can borrow your picture before she published them, or write that the image is from your blog. Try to email her, check the IP address (whatever her name is, etc., can make for a cheap price). You may have a nice weekend! hug

you're quickly becoming my one and only style idol with all of these brilliant twists and ties and functions of basic wardrobe pieces.

i wrote (well, gushed) all about it over in my blogging neck of the woods again this morning:

http://bargainbex.blogspot.com/2011/09/bottoms-up.html

and thank you (again and again and again) for being such a style inspiration to a little bargain blogger like me.

Hey there, I just wanted to say that I used and referenced your photos. I don't take pictures of myself, but wanted to share How-to-wear-your-sweater-as-a-skirt project. I hope you don't mind it, but if you do, I will take them down :).
