D I Y / Zipper Jacket

Photobucket

Before // After

Was about to throw this military inspired jacket from last year's H&M to the trash when I realized the cut and quality(70% wool) were actually quite nice! So I decided to give this piece a second life this winter. Inspired by Burberry's zipper jackets from this season I added two zippers and decided to remove all the golden buttons.

I can't wait to wear it tomorrow! I literally jumped in the air when I realized that I managed to align the two zippers perfectly, this feels even better than buying a new jacket!

Gee, you come up with some really good ideas. The jacket looks so good.

Have you made you elizabeth ear-piece yet? Go to ladama.com - look in hardwear and there's an ear piece which is kinda like hers. But knowing you, you could D.I.Y

Oh, I love your DIY! Amazing job! Now I wish I had a jacket to do some DIY myself! :) I love Burberry jacket a lot and wanted to buy a COS version but wasn't lucky enough to find one. So, now for me this is an option ;) Thank you for the idea!

Holy! Dat heb je supermooi gedaan!! ZO tof!

( beetje vaag zo hahah )

Brilliant, it looks like a completely different piece once you added the zips and removed the buttons. I actually prefer your take on it to its original design.

Have you ever thought about becoming a designer? You come up with some really original ideas.

That zipper jacket is GENIUS. I absolutely love it, even though I have to admit that I often think changing a beautiful piece of clothing is a waste.

it looks great, I have one question though. you dont really show the view from the back. did you sew it all the way around like burberry prorsum or only in the front?
thx,

Wahoou.The result is great !

You dont actually mean "the trash" do you? You wouldnt throw it in the garbage to sit in a landfill when others cant even afford a jacket from H&M, right? Hopefully you mean resell it or donate it. I really hope so.

allison said...

However, I cannot say enough what a beautiful job you did with the DIY. I am always looking for things like this to do.
