SHOES | En Pointe at Monki

Photobucket

Photobucket

Just look at this quirky take on ballet flats by Monki for next spring. The sight of these pointe shoes on the grey showroom floor just took me right back to my ballet days. I remember it always looked quite akward when the girls would walk on flat feet with the elongated hard pointe shoes on. But as soon as they would stand on the tip of their toes the akwardness instantly dissapeared and their movements became elegant. On these Monki shoes we won't be walking on the tip of our toes though. But I do look forward to adding a bit of odness and akwardness to my outfits with these pointe-ballet flats.

Love the delicious detailing, and I have to agree that there is some fascination I have with ballet shoes and dancers; the way they wear the shoes, treat them and dance with them.

they are wonderful; this would add at least a nice illusion of being a ballerina when in reality you cannot be one.

These are cute, no doubt. I'd never wear them though, I don't think ballet flats suit me at all.

really pretty, yet minimal. the leather looks soft and supple- important in a ballet flat.

i love these, they take me back to my ballet days too. i remember getting pointe shoes and being mesmerised at how beautiful they were... and then being told i had to crack them in the hinges of the door and basically destroy them before i could dance in them. wish i had never given up ballet.

i have to buy these shoes!

oh girl, these real pointed ballet flats are greats!! I danced for years and everytime I met a real dancer, a great dancer I mean, I thought the same: a wonderfull elegand walking

I like the shape, but aren't all monki shoes pleather? I can see them being destroyed in two minutes, not lasting over even one season..

I had a pair of repettos that looked like pointe shoes once, but sadly they fell apart way too quickly considering how much money I spent on them. So for now, I'm just goign to stick with the actual pointe shoes which I'm struggling to get back onto after 15 years. Fun and painful all at the same time!

ah, ballet! I remember having to watch my little sister's recitals as a kid. these are a great translation from dance to every day. I can't wait to see you wear them!

I love the concept of these shoes. Will definitely be buying them. They're still simple, but so much more interesting than the average flat.
